They sing, they dance, they light up the stage like seasoned performers, highly anointed by God and ministering to young and old alike, as they pour out their hearts in song and humble themselves before God and man to do service as only God could orchestrate them to do.

This dynamic, energetic, spirit-filled group of young people is one of the southeast's premier choirs. Under the awesome direction of Mr. Darryl Izzard, a chosen vessel of God, this choir has become an icon of excellence among church, school and community gospel choirs.

They have performed before audiences in urban churches, rural churches, schools, other college campuses, civic auditoriums, national events and major tourist attractions such as The House of Blues.

Internationally the choir has given three command performances for the Pope at The Vatican in Rome, Italy; toured extensively throughout Ghana, West Africa, Caracas, Venezuela, and Bogot, Colombia.  Most recently the choir was the featured holiday guest for the Prince and Princess of Monaco; His Serene Highness Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco and Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline.

The choir has been seen and heard by millions through several television and radio appearances across the globe.  They have been favorites on The Word Network Television show Bobby Jones Gospel Presents and they have made several guest appearances on the Rai Due Television Network, one of the three main television channels broadcast by Italian Public Television Company - RAI.

This outstanding choir has performed with various world-renowned gospel artists including, Madame Tramaine Hawkins, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Donald Lawrence of the Tri-city Singers, Ricky Dillard of the New Generation Chorale of Chicago, Norman Hutchins of Los Angeles, California and The Late Minister O'landa Draper and the Associates of Memphis, Tennessee.

The Award-Winning Benedict College Gospel Choir has been ranked as the number one collegiate gospel choir in the United States of America for five of the past seven years at the Black Music Caucus' National Collegiate Gospel Choir Competition. God has continued to exalt this group with His mighty hand and it is evident through their awesome giftedness.

A 138 year old, historically black institution, Benedict College is located in the Capital City of Columbia, South Carolina. Since it's inception in 1870, Benedict, a Baptist affiliated institution, has served the community as a "power for good."   The Award-Winning Benedict Gospel Choir continues the legacy of excellence while spreading the Good News in song.
