The Upward Bound Program policies and procedures are consistent with the guidelines established by its funding source, the US Department of Education, which regulates and mandates certain practices to guide our decision-making and keep the program in compliance with EDGAR (Education Department's General Administrative Regulations) and its host Benedict College.

It is the policy of Benedict College Upward Bound Program not to discriminate on the basis of race as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, on the basis of sex as required by Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments, or on the basis of handicap as required by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other civil rights laws.

The project offers equal opportunity in its educational programs, admissions and educational activities. The employment policies are in compliance with the above mentioned regulations and laws.
