PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – Benedict College repeated as Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis champions with a 5-1 victory over Clark Atlanta on Wednesday at the Peachtree City Tennis Center.

The Tigers took two of the three doubles matches with wins by Caroline Nguy and Daniella Rios at No. 1 and Karla Flores and Victoria Izakova at No. 2. Clark Atlanta's Tori Prader and Avern Gumbs won the No. 3 doubles match 8-3 against Juliet Campbell and Danyelle Copeland.

Benedict won all three singles matches. Nguy topped DiAndrea Galloway, 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 2 position. Rios defeated Alexis Fletcher, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4, while Copeland used scores of 7-5, 6-2 to take down Jade Shugars at No. 5.

Benedict improves to 19-5 overall and earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Championships.

Nguy was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, while head coach Gary Taylor was named the Coach of the Tournament. Joining Nguy on the singles All-Tournament team were Karla Flores and Izakova. Rios and Nguy were named to the All-Tournament team in doubles.
