Alumnus Tyrone Adam Burroughs attributes his success to the foundation and support he received from Benedict College

Columbia, SC --- April 21 2017 --- Benedict College is hosting a Naming Ceremony for the Tyrone Adam Burroughs School of Business and Economics on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Benjamin F. Payton Learning Resources Center Plaza on the main campus of Benedict College.

Its vision is to create a new kind of sales and marketing solutions and strategic approach for the multicultural and personal care industry.

He has been instrumental in assisting some of the world's largest product manufacturers and retailers to succeed in developing profitable sales, marketing and merchandising strategies coupled with unparalleled programs to connect with their target market. His business is the driving force behind transforming the multicultural personal care category which represents over $1.7 trillion dollars in buying power.

For its revolutionary approach, First Choice has been named Broker of the Year, Sales Solutions Firm of the Year, one the World's Most Innovative Companies, and recognized by several publications for its contribution to the evolving retail arena. Burroughs has been widely recognized for his visionary leadership and pioneering innovations. He serves as chairman of The Choice Group Inc., the parent company of subsidiaries including: MG Capital Holdings Inc., 115 Union Ave. Development, The Burroughs Foundation Inc., Choice Real Estate Firm, Rizzo's Diner, The Pocket Bistro, G.O. Burroughs is a member of the Board of Directors of First Alliance Bank, Chairman of The Burroughs Foundation, Regional One Health Hospital Board of Directors the Memphis NAACP Board of Directors, Global Beauty Alliance Board, Vision 2020 Retail Strategy Committee and Chairman of the Trustee Board for the historic Metropolitan Baptist Church. Burroughs holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Benedict College. He completed graduate work at the University of South Carolina and currently resides in Memphis, TN.
