Spring Registration will Continue Throughout the Weekend

Columbia, SC -- January 6, 2017 -- Benedict College announces today it will delay the start of classes originally scheduled for Monday, January 9, 2017 to Wednesday, January 11. 2017. The purpose of the brief delay is to give students who are traveling from areas affected by this weekend’s inclement weather more time to travel back to campus safely. However, general registration will continue throughout the weekend and the following week as scheduled.

According to the Weather Channel, Winter Storm Helena is expected to spread snow and ice into parts of the south, potentially snarling traffic through areas of South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and up the east coast. Nearly, half of Benedict College’s student population is from out-of-state. The top five states for new students attending Benedict are South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, New Jersey and the District of Columbia. Students and parents who decide to travel this weekend will be able to register in the David H. Swinton Campus Center as previously scheduled.
