Columbia, SC -- October 5, 2016 -- As we prepare for Hurricane Matthew, the Benedict College campus, Child Development Center, and Continuing Education Program will close from Thursday, October 6 through Sunday, October 9, and will re-open on Monday, October 10.

Only essential personnel should report to campus from Thursday to Sunday.

Faculty and students are advised that any remaining midterm examinations for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday classes will be administered on Monday, October 10. Any remaining midterm examinations for Tuesday and Thursday classes will be administered on Tuesday. October 11. The revised deadline for submission of midterm grades will be announced next week.

Food Services Hours:

8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. - Breakfast
12 noon - 2:00 p.m. - Lunch
4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - Dinner


10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. - Brunch
4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - Dinner

As you know, Governor Haley declared a State of Emergency Tuesday, October 4 at 7:30 a.m. Charleston and Beaufort counties will evacuate today at 3 p.m. Georgetown and Horry counties will evacuate tomorrow morning.

Benedict College is encouraging students, faculty and staff to stay at home and stay off the roads as the evacuation of the state’s coastal region proceeds. Please obey all emergency personnel, signs and directions. At this time, the Columbia area is not included in the evacuation order and we do not anticipate a need for students to leave campus.
