Mentors--Students will be offered the opportunity to be matched with a transfer student mentor the semester before entering Benedict College to answer questions as the student prepares for his/her transition to Benedict. That same mentor will continue to work with the student throughout his/her first year at Benedict College.
Transfer Student Orientation--Early in their first semester at Benedict College, students will attend a session/course specifically designed for bridge program students that addresses personal and academic success. This session/course will help engage the new transfer student in the learning community at Benedict College.
TRiO, SCAMP and "Call Me Mister" Programs--MTC and Benedict College TRiO, SCAMP and "Call Me Mister" Programs will work together to provide seamless transition services between the programs at the two colleges. For example, students in the MTC Upward Bound, Educational Talent Search, Educational Opportunity Center and Student Support Services programs who are interested in transferring to Benedict College will be connected with the staff of the Student Support Services program at Benedict College. These programs may also work together on joint activities.

These opportunities may include but are not limited to the Benedict College support services such as library services and computer labs. In addition, the MTC-Benedict Bridge students will be provided with the opportunity to participate in Benedict College band, choir, and performing arts, provided the students meet the Benedict College eligibility criteria for these programs. Benedict College may also extend invitations to the MTC student body to attend recreational, academic and social events at Benedict College and Midlands Technical College will provide information to the MTC community about these opportunities. Midlands Technical College students who plan to transfer to Benedict College may be provided with a special Benedict College ID card and allowed to participate in designated Benedict College activities, or Benedict College may honor the MTC ID card for participation in designated Benedict College events.
