Benedict College Center for Materials and Energy Security is funded by the Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration-NNSA to advance energy generation and security. Specific research areas include:  Magnetic transport properties of carbon nanostructures in three dimension of carbon nanostructures, Modeling and simulation thermoelectric properties of samples. Our research consortia include six other research universities and national laboratories. These laboratories include: Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and the Y-12 National Security Complex. The Consortia will also serve to provide solutions to the improvised explosive devices (IEDs) that have emerged in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations throughout the world, as an unanticipated and deadly threat to U.S. and Allied military forces and the environment.
