At Benedict College, Standing Committees have been established to facilitate the work of the College. Membership on a committee may be by appointment, by election, or by virtue of position. Where members are appointed or elected, membership terms generally are for three years and are staggered so as to insure continuity.
The Committee on Committees has general oversight for all Standing Committees. These oversight responsibilities include recommending to the President the composition, membership, and officers of committees, monitoring committees’ meeting schedules and activities, maintaining committee records, and assessing the need for and effectiveness of all committees.
