POSITION: Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

DEPARTMENT: Athletic Department
WORK SCHEDULE: Flexible; nights, weekends, holidays and overnight travel required
SALARY: Commensurate with experience

DIRECT REPORT: Head Coach, Associate Athletic Director

FUNCTION: To assist the head coach with all aspects of maintaining a highly competitive Division II men basketball program within the policy framework of the institution.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

  1. Must have a Bachelor Degree.
  2. Previous coaching experience required. 
  3. Head coaching or collegiate coaching experience preferred.

DUTIES:  The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Recruitment and development of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes while maintaining a recruiting database;
  2. Coordinating on-campus prospect visits and off-campus recruiting
  3. Monitoring student-athlete academic development and well-being
  4. Player development both in strength and individual skill development
  5. Assist with practice and game planning and management
  6. On the floor coaching in practice and game situations
  7. Scouting opponents
  8. Overseas scheduling of opponents
  9. Coordination of team travel
  10. Order and maintain supplies & equipment
  11. Assisting with organizing and directing camps and clinics
  12. Participates in fundraising activities, public relation activities and special projects
  13. Complete and submit all necessary Institution, conference and NCAA required documents and reports
  14. Working closely with the university admissions and financial aid office and the NCAA Compliance Coordinator and housing director
  15.  Other duties assigned by the head coach.

POSITION: Head Athletic Trainer

DEPARTMENT: Athletics Department

REPORT TO: Athletics Director

FUNCTION: Develop, coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medicine program for intercollegiate sports. The head athletic trainer will also perform professional and administrative services essential for the successful implementation and development of the program.

QUALIFICIATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization required
  2. Proper Athletic training certification required
  3. State Athletic Training Licensure required

DUTIES: The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include, but not limited to:

  1. Develop overall sports medicine program for the Institution, including: injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs and counseling for student-athletes
  2. Provide athletic training services for the Institution’s athletic department, including attendance at scheduled team practices and home and away competitions as necessary
  3. Coordinate and schedule physical examinations and medical referrals for student-athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete
  4. Work in conjunction with the strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition and conditioning programs customized to meet individual student-athlete needs
  5. Schedule and coordinate athletic training staff and students for coverage of all team practices and athletic competitions
  6. Recordkeeping and documentation
  7. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE:

Must have knowledge of NCAA, SIAC and governing rules and a commitment to the Institution. This position works directly with the coaching and strength & conditioning staff to ensure that the training techniques are effective and beneficial to the individual’s development as well as prevention of injuries and effective return to play following injury.

POSITION: Recreation Aide

FUNCTION: Oversees Club Sport Program and Fitness Center.

QUALIFICIATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

  2. The Position requires the ability to work with students and handle crowd /player control problems as they arise
  3. Supervise Fitness Center/ Charlie W. Johnson Stadium

DUTIES: The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include, but not limited to:

  1. 10 month contract
  2. Keep weekly records on student participation and other necessary data
  3. Coordinate and supervised college club sports program.
  4. Maintain condition of equipment and, repair when needed.
  5. Assist in establishing rules/policies governing club sports activities.
  6. Maintenance and upkeep of Fitness Center and Charlie W. Johnson Stadium
  7. Other duties as assigned by the Athletics Director.

Must have knowledge and a commitment to the Institution, Club Sports Program and Fitness Center Operations.
