After one of the selected choirs, unfortunately, had to drop out the competition the day before the Atlanta show, the management team contacted Mr. Izzard.  Ms. Burke said, “By early morning Darryl had his choir, comprised of students from across this city of Columbia and surrounding midland area, in a rehearsal session. After rehearsing, all 35 choir members, they hopped in their cars and headed to Atlanta.” Verizon's HSTS is a nationwide search for the best gospel choir in America. Now in its sixth year, the management team invites church, collegiate and community choirs to participate in the gospel experience. The goal of the program is to celebrate music and create a lasting impact on churches and communities across the country. Mr. Izzard and Christ-N-U choir won the judges and audience over with their rendition of “Total Praise,” and captured the honor of Regional Winner as well as the Verizon People’s Choice Award Winner.

The  How Sweet The Sound Experience is hosted by Donald Lawrence and Yolanda Adams. The judges are Tamela Mann, Hezekiah Walker, and VaShawn Mitchell. The next stop on the HSTS tour is the Grand Finale on Saturday, November 2, 2013, Los Angeles, CA.
