Columbia, SC -- March 21, 2013 -- Benedict College will welcome federal, state, and local officials on Friday, March 22, 2013 for the 4th Annual Transportation Summit: Partnerships and Innovation. The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Benedict College School of Continuing Education, 111 Doctor's Circle, Columbia, South Carolina. The event is open to the general public.
Federal, state, and local officials, as well as faculty members and students from academic institutions, have been invited to make presentations. The summit will provide a forum for policy updates on local, state, and federal transportation issues, best practices in transportation-related partnerships, innovative projects, and publically funded transportation research and business opportunities. This year's speakers will include Mr. Robert St. Onje, Jr., Secretary, South Carolina Department of Transportation; Dr. Louis B. Lynn, President, ENVIRO AgScience, Inc.; Mrs. Jo Ann Tuttle, President of J.A.T. Consultant Services; Mr. Leroy Taylor, Colonel, South Carolina Department of Public Safety; Dr. Arlene Prince, Director, South Carolina Department of Transportation; Mrs. Pamela Foster, Civil Rights Officer, Federal Highway Administration; Mr. Aaron Bishop, Senior Corporate Education Liaison, University of Phoenix; Mr. Kevin Morrison, State Program Manager, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration; and Ms. Roxanne Matthews Ancheta, Assistant County Administrator, Richland County.
