Lynn Jackson is a 1994 graduate with a BS degree in Elementary Education. He received his Masters degree from Clemson University in 1998. He is presently seeking a doctorate in Educational Administration from SC State University. He is the principal at Brunson-Dargan Elementary in Darlington, SC.
Civic & Community Activities: He is the past president of the Newberry branch of NAACP, past Secretary for Omicron Iota Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.; Advisor to Newberry Explorers Club, member of National Middle School Association, Meridian Lodge #9, and National Alliance of Black School Educators. He is a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He is the founder of The Gentlemen and Ladies’ Club of the Midlands, a non-profit organization to address the needs of our young people through etiquette and social skills. He is a member of Mt. Cannel Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.
Awards and Honors: Newberry Middle School Teacher of the Year-1996/1997; Advisor of the Year, Newberry Explorers Club-1998; Outstanding Young Man of the Year-1998; Fairfield School’s Young Administrator of Year-1999; Augustus Witherspoon Leadership Award-2000.
Alumni and Student Involvement: Vice President of Young Alumni, Life Member and member Newberry County Benedict Alumni Club. He is a past All-American in Track and Field.
