Southern VP 2006-2008Mr. Walter Good '71
Mr. Good's education includes Denmark Technical College (Formerly South Carolina Area Trade School), Barbering; Benedict College, BS; SC State University, M. Ed.; and further studies at Clemson University, The Citadel, Tufts University, and University of California at Berkeley. Civic & Community Activities/Alumni Involvement: Mr. Good is very active in his community. He is a member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served as Trustee and Financial Secretary. He is a member of the following organizations: NEA-R, SCEA-R, RCEA-R, NCTM, Atlanta-Benedict College Alumni Club, Former member of Columbia-Benedict College Alumni Club #2, Richland County Chapter of Denmark Technical College (former president), Partners for Minorities in Engineering and Computer Science (current treasurer), and South Carolina Alliance of Black School Educators (current treasurer). On August 6, 2005, Mr. Good and his wife, Teshine, moved to Marietta, Georgia after living in South Carolina for almost sixty-one years. Mr. Good is married to the former Teshine Greene and has one daughter, Sheryl and one granddaughter, Jade. |

Walter
L. Good is a retired mathematics teacher of Dreher High School of
Richland County School District One. While a teacher at Dreher High, he taught
General Mathematics, Geometry, Algebra I and n, Algebra
ID-Trigonometry and many other mathematics courses. Also, he was the first
teacher in Richland One to teach Computer Programming as an experimental
course offering. Later on in his career he taught many Graduate
level computer courses to faculty and staff of the Midlands area. In the
1989-1990 school year, Mr. Good was selected Dreher's Teacher
of the Year.
