Treasurer, 2006-2008Mr. Moses Mims Jr.'68
Civic & Community Activities: He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and has held numerous offices in his alumni chapter. He currently serves as the Keeper of Records. Alumni Association Involvement: He served as the president of the Aiken County Benedict College Club for eight years, and he served as the treasurer of Aiken County Democratic Party for six years. Both of these positions were recently abandoned so that more time will be available in his schedule to do all that is required of the BCNAA treasurer, if elected. He is married to the former Betty Ryans of Aiken, and they are the proud parents of two great children, a son, Anthony, who is a major in the U. S. Air Force and a daughter, Erica, who is a registered nurse. |
Benedict College National Alumni Association
Moses Mims, a 1968 cum laude graduate of Benedict College
with a B A degree in Social Science. His original career
plan was to become a teacher of Social Studies, but the army
intervened shortly after his graduation and instead of becoming a
teacher, he went to Officer Candidate School and was commissioned a
Second Lieutenant
in the Army on September 3, 1969. After seven
years of active duty, Mr. Mims returned to his home town of Aiken, South Carolina and spent 29 years working in Payroll management at the Savannah
River Site. He retired from that site on June 1, 2005. He is spending his retirement pursuing gardening and
cycling as hobbies.
