bc_naa-williamson_chandler.jpgChandler Williamson is a 1993 graduate of Benedict College, with continued graduate study at Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond Virginia.

Described by the Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel as a future emerging leader, and in a Miami Herald article as strong-willed, determined, and a proven leader to Florida District 29, Chandler F.Williamson has been in Public Service to the community for over twelve years. Currently as the Chief of Staff in the Florida Senate 29th District,Mr.Williamson has been a spoken voice for improving healthcare, Medicaid, education programs and funding for teachers, affordable housing and an advocate for the poor and homeless families.

Civic & Community activities include: Civic & Community activities include: He is affiliated with the following organizations: Benedict College South Florida Alumni Club, Club President; YMCA Lauderhill Board Member; Board Chair YMCA Leadership Committee; National Urban League; Urban League of Broward County; NAACP; National Conference of Black Legislators; Broward Delegation Board; Young Democrats of Broward; Young Professionals Network; Boys & Girls Club of America; Big Brothers, Big Sisters; Veterans Affairs Member; Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.; Child Support Enforcement Foundation; Non Custodial Parent Program.

Awards and Honors: Considered by many as a pioneer of the “newleadership in the African American Community, Mr. Williamson has been honored and recognized numerous times throughout the state of Florida and nationally for various causes and by diverse organizations.

Alumni Association Involvement: Host to the 2006 BCNAA Spring Planning Meeting, and president of the Benedict College South Florida Alumni Club.
