bc_2008_track_n_field_team_0417_siac_championship017_dameon_terryDameon Terry (Senior of Greenwood, SC) was outstanding at the NCAA Division II South Regional Track & Field Championships 2008 (May 3, 2008) in winning both the Men Shot Put and the Men Hammer Throw events with a distance of 13.32m and 43.98m, respectively.  Also, David Wheeler (Senior of Sarasota, FL) finished 3rd place in the Men 110 Meter Hurdles with a time of 15.38.

Benedict College's Women's Tennis Team has made a first time accomplishment of being selected to the South Region of the NCAA Tennis Playoffs to be held on Thursday - Friday, May 8 - 9, 2008 at University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL.

UPCOMING ATHLETIC EVENTS:

On June 9 - July 18, 2008 at 7:30am - 5:30pm, the Benedict College Summer Sports Fun Camp (for Boys & Girls ages 5 - 14 years old) will be held in the HRC Arena (Gym) on campus.

On Monday - Friday, June 23 - 27, 2008 at 8:00am - 1:00pm., the Volleyball Half Day Skills Camp (for Girls: 5th - 12th Grades) will be held in the HRC Arena (Gym) on campus.

On July 29 - August 3, 2008, Benedict College will play host to over 700 youth for the 18th Annual MJBL Inner City Classic and its annual Bobby Bonds Memorial Symposium.

Season Results:

  • The Tigers Basketball Team, Men finished the 2007-2008 season with a record of 28 - 5 (20 - 2 Conference).
  • The Tigers Basketball Team, Women finished the 2007-2008 season with a record of 5 - 23 (4 - 16 Conference).
  • The Tigers Football Team finished the 2007 season with a record of 2 - 9 (1 - 6 Conference).
  • The Tigers Volleyball Team finished the 2007 season with a record of 14 - 11 (3 - 5 Conference).
