As of January 27, 2010, Basketball Team, Women is ranked #7 in the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Regional Poll, South Region.

As of November 9, 2009, BC Football Team (8-3, 6-3) is ranked #9 in the NCAA Division II Super Regional 2.

Melinda Bastian is the 2009 SIAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Year.

bc  cross country team  in ncaa south regional  dickson toroitichOn Monday, November 9, 2009, the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee announced the participants for the 2009 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships. Representing the South Region as one of two is Dickson Toroitich (Benedict College). He is the only National Qualifier from the SIAC Conference.

These two former players of the BC Tigers (BC Class of 2009) are playing professional basketball overseas: Martinis Woody with the Iserlohn Kangaroos in Germany and Bennie Lewis with the Melbourne Tigers in Australia.

11/12/2009 - BC (#2E) d. Tuskegee University (#3W): W (3-0) 26-24, 25-18, 25-23.
11/12/2009 - BC (#2E) d. Claflin University (#4E): W (3-2) 25-11, 25-23, 22-25, 18-25, ?.
11/13/2009 - BC (#2E) l. Kentucky State University (#1W): L (2-3 Eliminated) 25-23, 16-25, 21-25, 25-23, 13-15.
BC finished in 3rd place.

The Tigers finished the 2009 regular football season with a record of 8 - 3 (6 - 3 Conference).

2009 SIAC Cross Country Championships in Atlanta, GA (Sat., Oct. 24, 2009):

  • BC Men finished in 2nd place and BC Women finished in 5th place.

BC is first in men basketball attendance among Black Colleges ... see 2009 Black College Basketball Attendance Numbers.

On May 7-10, 2009 at the PGA Minority Collegiate Championships in Port St. Lucie, FL, BC Golf Team, Men finished in 5th place.
