Benedict College is a private, co-educational liberal arts
institution located in Columbia, SC. It is the 4th largest
private HBCU (Historically Black College or University) in the
United States and has produced over 14,000 graduates. Of the 20
independent colleges in South Carolina, Benedict has the largest
undergraduate student body and is the second largest overall
with an undergraduate population of over 2,500 students.
Benedict College is committed to being the best college it can

Americans in American society. It is one of the top producers of
African-American Physics majors in the country, as reported by
the Education and Employment statistic Division of the American
Institute of Physics and was ranked #2 in the nation for
producing African-Americans with an undergraduate degree in
Physics. In the past 10 years, one out of three Benedict College
students has enrolled in graduate school.
