At the personal invitation of Bobby Jones of the Bobby Jones Gospel television series, the award-winning Benedict College Gospel Choir recently delivered a performance at the International Gospel Industry Retreat in Hollywood, Fla., that was taped and will be broadcast in January on the Black Entertainment Network (BET) and the WORD television network.

The choir attracted Jones' attention during a performance at the HBCU Hall of Fame Gospel Expo in Atlanta in September.

"What an excellent group of singers and musicians they are, and we are blessed to have them come be a part of this major industry event," Jones said in a release.

Jones' Bobby Jones Gospel has been broadcasting since 1980 and is the only nationally syndicated black gospel show. The show has featured such artists as Kirk Franklin, John P. Kee, Yolanda Adams, The Canton Spirituals, Hezekiah Walker and more.

Led by Darryl Izzard, the Benedict College Gospel Choir is consistently ranked one of the top college gospel choirs in the country. The group has also traveled to Italy and released two live albums.
