  1. If you received a Word 2007 .docx file (or any Office 2007 file) and cannot open it using Word 2003 (or Office 2003), you need to install the FileFormatConverters.exe file to give you the capability to open Office 2007 files.

Download and install file converter from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466.
