POSITION: Director of Academic Program Assessment

The Director of Academic Program Assessment reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and is responsible for the coordinating the academic affairs strategic planning and tactical implementation of initiatives and activities related to program improvement strategies, program development, academic forecasting, space allocation, and management in accordance to the College's Strategic Plan.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops, maintains, and coordinates college-wide academic skills assessment and support programs, in collaboration with deans, faculty and academic support services professionals.
- Develops survey and assessment instruments and utilizes associated software and equipment to organize, analyze, interpret and synthesize data received.
- Assists with the planning and start-up of new academic programs, including graduate, distance, and technology-based; and support of research and grant funded programs and academic centers.
- Provides leadership for the college in continuously developing and improving its academic support for student learning.
- Develops research reports and presentations to be delivered and used by the Division and other units within the College based upon assessments and advises and assists other College departments in using assessment results for institutional improvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree required, Doctoral degree preferred, in statistics, educational evaluation, business administration, higher education administration, or related field with extensive statistical and evaluative coursework supplemented by a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience, preferably in a collegiate environment.
Possess strong data analysis skills using statistical programs and databases such as SAS, SPSS, MS Excel, and MS Access. Experience with maintaining and manipulating large datasets, analyzing and interpreting data, ensuring integrity of the data, performing quality assurance, and formally writing up results for submission in final reports. Possess some background in statistical models, such as linear and logistic regression, normal correlation, nonlinear multilevel analysis, cluster analysis, factor analysis, and analysis of variance.

Benedict College seeks an instructional technology specialist who will provide leadership for the implementation of the technology plan for the Division of Academic Affairs. Responsibilities will include: coordinating the training and technical assistance required by faculty for Blackboard and other technology-driven instructional approaches; establishing and maintaining electronic databases for efficient operations; collaborate with campus officials in the development and management of an interactive website for the Division; facilitate and manage web-based courses; coordinate technology needs with the Division of Institutional Effectiveness and Sponsored Programs; coordinate and implement training for faculty on the applications of technology in instruction and assessment; develop centralized technology support and access system for faculty; provide technical assistance to faculty; develop technology replacement plan; and related duties as assigned.

POSITION: Electronic Reference Librarian

Reports to: Library Director
GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This position requires the appointee to have an ALA accredited Master of Library and Information Science or related degree and reference experience, preferably in an academic library. The appointee will assist students, faculty, staff, and others at the College in locating and using online and print informational resources. The position requires demonstrated knowledge or experience with computers and electronic databases. Some experience in teaching library instruction. The appointee is expected to be knowledgeable with current trends in information literacy, libraries, customer service orientation, and referral services. The appointee will maintain and improve collections through collection development activities and policies. In addition, effective written and spoken communication skills are required and the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and others in an academic environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists students, faculty, and others at the College in finding and using varied library informational resources
- Provides Reference Desk assistance including working a rotating evening and weekend schedule
- Conducts general library orientation tours and instruction sessions
- Contributes to Information Literacy initiatives
- Participates in collection development activities and the development and/or revision of collection development policies

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Benedict College's Division of Institutional Advancement is directly responsible for assisting the College in meeting its mission and goals, specifically engaging in activities that will help obtain the financial resources necessary to carry out the mission mandates.
The Administrative Assistant plays an integral role in the execution of day-to-day operations of the Office and is expected to provide the full range of administrative support to the Office, providing assistance to both the Executive Vice President and Director of Development/Chief of Staff.

POSITION: Assistant Athletic Director for Operations and Development/SWA

The Assistant Athletic Director of Operations and Development/Senior Women's Administrator serves as the day-to-day administrator for the athletics department and reports to the Athletic Director. The AAD/SWA is responsible for supporting the efforts of the Athletic Director in managing the Athletic Department and all of its programs. The AAD/SWA position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for identification, cultivation and solicitation of prospective donors and grant funding. Provide support to all women student-athletes at Benedict College. Coordinate and/or provide administrative support for coaches of all women's sports. Represent Benedict College at Senior Women's Administrator (SWA) meetings of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implements policy and rules and regulations as directed and interpreted by the Athletic Director.
- In the absence of the Athletic Director represents the Benedict College Athletic Department at selected state, local and conference meetings.
- Development of a comprehensive annual fund program, coordination of special event fund-raising activities and major gift and grant prospect identification.
- Assist Director of Athletics with Title IX compliance.
- Coordinate services for female athletes to include tutoring, advising or referring to appropriate resources.
- Oversee budget development and personnel administration for assigned program area.
- Assists in the preparation of the annual Athletic Budget.
- Assists in the development of positive working relationships with the media, parents, school employees and community members as directed by the Athletic Director.
- Serve as liaison between the community and Intercollegiate Athletics; provide requested information for assigned program area.

- Serves as Coordinator of Student Athletic Advisory Committee and CHAMPS LifeSkills program.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree; master's degree preferred but not required and one to three years experience in athletics administration and/or fund raising. An undergraduate degree is desirable for the successful candidate. All candidates must be willing to work flexible hours. Advanced study and/or recent experiences in administrative organization and leadership are essential, as is demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and computer knowledge, knowledge of NCAA rules, experience with fund raising, grant writing, development, and administration, and experience in administration or management of development programs; strong written, computer and verbal communication skills; ability to motivate and train volunteers; and be committed to working with a diverse group of constituents.
POSITION: Teacher's Assistant

Under direct supervision, perform routine or standardized work assisting classroom teacher in the general supervision and management of a group of children between the ages of two and five.
TASKS PERFORMED:
- Assist and cooperate with the teacher in planning, implementing and evaluating daily activities of the children
- Assist in organizing and instructing children in group and team activities
- Assist the teacher in maintaining an orderly environment inclusive of keeping classroom clean before and after meals and all activities
- Plan and arrange all necessary teaching materials with the teacher.
- Operate or assist in operation of audio-visual and other general school equipment
- Provide care and protection of all children. Assist them with self-care activities such as aiding in their toileting experiences and helping them with their clothing, when necessary

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least nineteen (19) years of age, in the process of becoming professionally prepared to be a teacher of young children, and meet the requirements of the licensing agency. This person must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate will to children, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the school's educational philosophy.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Successful candidate must provide evidence of a high school diploma or GED and must have at least twelve (12) months of supervised care giving experience with children six (6) weeks to five (5) years of age. Child development associate credential (CDA) or at least one (1) approved Early Childhood Development Course or certificate for child care career development preferred.

POSITION: Technology Technician
DEPARTMENT: Management Information Systems SALARY: Commensurate with background and experience.
Benedict College invites applications for the position of Technology Technician. The successful candidate will work primarily with faculty, staff and students in the security support and maintenance of the Benedict College computing equipment, software and devices. Specifically, the candidate will maintain the functionality of the main campus computing labs equipment as well as be the primary help desk manager. This entails providing on-site and remote technical assistance and facilitating the process for completing work orders for faculty and staff. Additionally, the candidate must be able to supervise and train work-study, service learning and intern students to facilitate the needs of the MIS department to ensure services and support to its customers This connotes the candidate must be knowledgeable in the areas of how to use and repair software and technical equipment (including workstations such as Dell, Gateway, IBM and MAC's with internet connections, Microsoft Office software, anti-virus software, web filters, digital peripherals, Adobe software, and FTP/telnet applications). SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Benedict College Office of Educational Support Services Unit under the direct supervision of the Director of Educational Support Services seeks a Mathematics Learning Specialist to collaborate with classroom instructors to assist students in developing mathematics skills. A Learning Specialist also provides tutorial and group support to students in math courses and related activities to supplement classroom instruction.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS : A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution is required. A Mathematics Learning Specialist must be proficient in mathematics and majored in mathematics or a related discipline.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES : Administrative Assistant to support the Mathematics and Computer Science Department faculty, staff and students and web site responsibilities as directed by the Office of the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Requires an associates degree and two years related administrative and web site development work experience. Experience to include having successfully rendered administrative and web support services to an organization of at least 3 persons. Required skills to include word processing, web page creation and maintenance, electronic and paper file management, spreadsheet familiarity, organizational skills and excellent communications and interpersonal skills. A bachelor's degree and web publication/scripting experience preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS: At least 2 years of student services experience. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

POSITION: Community Life Coordinator (CLC)
DEPARTMENT: Student Affairs/Community Life WORK SCHEDULE: Full-Time
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Community Life Coordinators (CLCs) report to the Area Coordinator and Director. CLCs are responsible for the quality of living in a given residence hall. Supervise and assist Resident Hall Advisors and Work-study students. Assist individual residents in personal, academic and social matters. Live-in.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily maintenance, incident, and lockout reports for the assigned residence hall.
- Submit disciplinary reports timely and accurately following the residential policies and procedures.
- Process and report work orders timely and accurately.
- Counsel students and make referrals when appropriate.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with students, staff and parents.
- Monitor security surveillance equipment.
- Supervise and Residence Hall Advisors and Work Study students.
- Provide students, faculty, staff, parents the community with direction and interpretation of departmental and campus policies and procedures.
- Oversee all in-dorm activities.
- Perform weekly room inspections.
- Assist with keeping building and grounds clean.
- Perform quality-control procedures.
- Work with Campus Safety to ensure proper safety procedures in residence halls including the operation of fire drills and building evacuations.
- Train Residence Hall Advisors and Workstudy Students.
- Conduct monthly dorm meetings.
- Responsible for controlling the assigned residence key system.
- Make or change room assignments in accordance with residential policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Student Personnel or related field preferred and at least 2 years of residential life experience. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
