The mission of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences is to provide its students quality
preparation for graduate and professional school in several disciplines. The School also prepares students
for careers in many diverse fields, including art, music and English education; graphic design;
law enforcement; mass communication; and social and government service. The School provides students
with the necessary academic, social and civic preparation necessary for success in their chosen
profession through interdisciplinary curriculum experiences, enriched with critical and analytical
thinking skills.
The School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences is comprised of three departments: the
Department of Fine Arts; the Department of English, Foreign Languages, and Mass Communication;
and the Department of Social Sciences and Criminal Justice.
