Debate Team 2004 - 2005

The Debate Team won first place at the Annual Meeting of the National Association of African American Honors Programs

The School of Honors Debate Team, under the direction of Professor Emmie Davis, Debate Coach and Assistant Professor of English, won first place at the Annual Meeting of the National Association of African American Honors Programs in Norfolk, Virginia, October 21-23, 2004.

Benedict College took first place with an undefeated record with wins against Bowie State University, Hampton University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, North Carolina Central University, Saint Augustine's College, Rust College, South Carolina State University, and Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.

The debate scholar participants were Kaara Defreitas (who was acknowledged as an Outstanding Orator), Anthony Jugmonhan, Kamilah Fabien, and Marlon Walcott.
